Project Summary
- Worked in a team of students and professor supervisor to develop an open-source web application to assist students in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto in mapping out their course degree requirements
- Contributed particularly to front-end design and functionality of course degree graph in React.js
- Developed full-stack in Haskell back-end server, with React.js front-end and PostgreSQL database, including writing APIs, database management, and front-to-back-end communication through HTTP requests
- Participated in full life-cycle of software development, including versioning, code review, testing, and builds
Problem
Computer Science students at the University of Toronto had difficulties identifying and mapping out the many requirements to satisfy their degree completion and specialization requirements, along with prerequisites for different courses
Goal
To create a visual interface that allowed Computer Science students to clearly visualize the path of course requirements they must complete in order to satisfy their degree requirements and course prerequisites as they go throughout their degree
